These two cards have combined together to form a pretty decent card drawing engine which can fit into virtually any blue deck from Donate/Illusions of Grandeur to Psychatog
It also means that even if your spell is countered, you still get a token to use, which is awesome
If you split the damage as one to each of three targets, those targets all get Lightning Bolted instead
